Would you like to have a taster course in Mandarin or give it a brush up? Do you want to experience and enjoy some insights of Chinese culture personally?

Please hurry to register for the specially organised “Chinesewise School – 2008 China Summer Camp”, which just right for you if you are a student age 8 yrs and over, your friends and family are welcome too!

The purpose of the summer expeditions is to improve your Chinese language skills and enhance the understanding of Chinese culture, including practicing calligraphy, painting, handicrafts, music, dance, martial arts and computing and websites, and many more, plus enjoying traditional performances.

The expeditions also give you an opportunity to have a gland of Hong Kong, and the landscape of central part of China all the way from South to North, plus Beijing Olympic stadiums and the Great Wall of China. You will have time to visit the magical young city Shen Zhen, and discover historical Tian Jin, to find out about the schooling conditions, history and new developments of these two cities, especially shopping and tasting the local specialities, and party with local students.

Camp date: 26th July 2008 -16th August 2008

Participants: 8 yrs to Adult, in good health and independent. (As a special group, friends and families are accepted.)

Learning condition: Shen Zhen University (SZU) was found in 1983, is a young energetic dynamic comprehensive university. The university is noted for its high qualifications, multi-academic background and innovative spirit. Tian Jin University (TJU) was established in 1895 with the name of “Peiyang University”; is the first educational institution of higher learning in China, has grown into a National Key University directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China.

Both universities have picturesque campus and experienced in organising Chinese language and culture course to overseas students, have a faculty of experienced teachers. Academic facilities, which are well stocked with a rich store of learning materials, included language laboratories, audiovisual practice room, Internet room, multimedia room, library, and reading room. A motorcade of the university is always ready to serve the students for sightseeing trips.

Living accommodation: In the international student’s dormitory, two people share a room, facilities include central air conditioner, TV, telephone, internet access, bathroom with hot water for 24 hours. Shared facilities in the campus are including dinning room, laundry room, washing machines, stores, and clinic etc. Recreation facilities: include a wide range of sports and entertainment facilities.

Food and drink: Everyday, three hot and cold nutritional meals with many choices.

Management: group and teach according to the level and interest of individuals, outing in-group with appointed guide.

Travel details:

7th June group introduction and briefing at 10:00am in Coombe Girls School, New Malden, Surrey KT3 3TU.

26th July meet up in the airport and leave London to Hong Kong. (Expect to travel together, unless special case).

16th August end of the summer camp (participants may return to London with the group or continue to travel)

Activities in China:

Monday to Friday has lessons (Study Chinese language, practise in listening, speaking, reading and writing four skills in the morning; afternoon and evening are devoted to selected cultural course, recreational activities, party or shopping)

Saturday and Sunday go sightseeing in places around China. (Dates and schedules will be adjusted accordingly)

Complete the course: at the end of the course, all participants will receive a certificate of recognition and have access to an internet photo album of this summer camp.

Fees per person: £1398. Including return tickets, airport tax, school fees, textbook, accommodation, meals and local travelling cost etc. (Note: travel insurance and the 60 days “L” visa to China are needed, £60 for travel insurance and £30 for visa which are not included in the fees. Non-refundable deposits are needed to secure a place for the course including lessons, tickets for travelling. To confirm your registration please include £150 with your application.)

Please hurry to join the specially organised “Chinesewise School – 2008 UK Summer Camp” which is close to home, open for everyone ages 8 years and over, and friends and family are welcomed too!

The purpose of the summer camp is to introduce and improve your Chinese language skills.

The summer camp also can enhance the knowledge of Chinese culture both in China and The UK, including practicing calligraphy, handicrafts, singing, dancing, martial arts and Chinese computing skills - even enjoy Chinese movies and performances etc.

The participants would have opportunities to visit the Chinese Embassy, Chinese Community centre and media establishments etc, plus shopping in the China Town, partying in the Chinese restaurants including tasting and making the famous Chinese dishes etc.

Camp date: 18th August 2008 – 24 August 2008

Participants: 8 yrs to adult, in good health and independent. (As a special group, friends and families are accepted.)

Academic facilities are well stocked with a rich store of learning materials.

Campus facilities: Kingston University was founded in 1954 is base in Kingston Surrey. The university included audiovisual classrooms, and library with computer room, multifunction room, plus sports and entertainment facilities etc.

Living accommodation: In the student’s dormitory, every six en suite single bed room in a flat with facilities include internet access, bathroom with hot water for 24 hours. Shared facilities in the building include a dining room with fridge and freezer, washing machines, canteen and laundry room within walking distance in the campus.

Food and drink: Everyday, three hot and cold buffet nutritional meals with many choices.

Management: grouping and teaching is according to the level and interest of individuals, outings are guided in groups.

Travel details:

18th August meeting at 9:00am (Kingston University, Kingston Vale, London SW15 3RN)

24th August end of the summer camp (participants must be picked up at the same address by 4:00pm)

Activities:

Five days of studying (Chinese language, practicing listening, speaking, reading and writing four skills in the morning; cultural course in the afternoon, recreational activities in the evenings)

Two days of outings, visiting places and finding out about the Chinese communities in UK.

Complete the course: at the end of the course all participants will receive a certificate of recognition and have access of the secured on line photo collection.

Fees per person: £560 Including school fees, textbook, accommodation, meals and local travelling cost etc. £390 for day members. (Note: £10 insurance is needed. Non-refundable deposits are needed to secure the accommodations and the activities involved. To confirm your registration please include £120 with your application.)

End date for application: 28th March 2008 (all fees must be paid in full by the date)
